Yeoju City Sewerage Office announced that it has laid the groundwork for improving the local environment after being finally selected for the “2026 Win-Win Cooperation Demonstration Program” project hosted by the Korea Environment Corporation.
This public contest is an outsourced project of the Ministry of Environment, hosted by the Korea Environment Corporation. The program is designed to promote the commercialization of environmental technologies by supporting partnerships between environmental technology companies and demand institutions, which form consortiums and receive funding for on-site demonstration. Following the initial announcement made in December of last year, the final implementing organizations were selected after on-site evaluations and deliberations conducted through April 27 of this year.
For this public contest, Yeoju City Sewerage Office cooperated with MIDNI Co., Ltd. and was finally selected for the “Demonstration Project for Total Phosphorus Treatment Facilities Using Dissolved Air Flotation Technology.” This project aims to replace the aging facilities at the Jeombong Sewage Treatment Plant with dissolved air flotation equipment, thereby improving sewage treatment efficiency and enhancing operational stability. In particular, the project is especially meaningful in that efforts to secure KRW 500 million in national funding have come to fruition.
A Yeoju City official stated, “This public contest project will provide the supplying company, MIDNI, with an opportunity to apply its environmental technology in the field and expand its market channels. At the same time, it will serve as an opportunity for Yeoju City to introduce advanced environmental facilities and further enhance the level of local environmental services.”
The official added, “We will continue to make sustained efforts to improve the water environment in a way that citizens can directly experience.”
